Dr. Doswell is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Juxtopia, LLC. He is a multidisciplinary scientist, mentor, entrepreneur, and visionary with over ten years of hands-on experience in information technology development and experienced business leadership. Prior to starting Juxtopia in 2001, Dr. Doswell lead several commercial software engineering teams, advised businesses on improving their processes with innovative technology, and mentored start-up companies ranging from information technology to biotechnology companies.
Dr. Doswell earned a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College with degrees in Psychology (cognitive neuro-psychology) and Computer Science, a Masters degree in Systems and Computer Science from Howard University, and a PhD degree in Information Technology from George Mason University. In 2002, Dr. Doswell was one of thirty-nine individuals in the United States chosen by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) as a Pacesetter in Technology. Dr. Doswell also co-organized the first Health Informatics and Information Technology (HIIT) steering committee within the American Public Health Association (APHA), the largest public health association in the United States. Dr. Doswell is also a “Who’s Who of Information Technology” and “Outstanding Young Man of the Year” awardee.
Dr. Doswell’s research is published around the world and is frequently invited to speak on a range of technical and business related topics ranging from public health informatics, telehealth, and e-learning to entrepreneurship. Dr. Doswell is an active member of the American Telemedicine Society (ATA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and Society for Applied Learning and Technology (SALT). |
